Many a treasure besides Ali Baba‘s is unlocked with a verbal key.
Henry van Dyke (1852–1933)
American Poet
Everybody has a number of treasures in his own treasure chest: strengths and capacities, skills and knowledge. Now, it’s time to do business and exchange your treasure for skills you’d like to have.
Bazaar of treasures is a confident building starter game. At the time it’s also useful to get to know what participants would like to learn or acquire.
Objective
- Familiarization of participants.
- Highlighting the available resources in a group.
- Positive Energy.
Resources
Cards/paper and pen
Time
30 min
Task
Every participant should create a list of his strengths, skills, capacities, and unique knowledge. Each person is allowed a maximum of 5 kg. So on their list, a person might have 1 kg of humour, 500g of good listening, 1.5 kg of French language…
After five minutes of writing their list, participants will move around the room and ask all the other participants what they have in their treasure chest and what they would like to exchange (clearly, no actually money should change hands!). Make sure that everybody speaks with everyone else!
Phase
Bazaar of Treasures is nice starter, or whenever need for motivation and strengthening of self-confidence.
