Logistics is the ball and chain of armored warfare.

Heinz Guderian (1888–1954)
General General and Pioneer of motorized, armored warfare.

The English word logistics stems from old French logeiz, i.e. shelter for an army, encampment (compare also lodge). Thus, it got he meaning: art of moving, quartering, and supplying troops. Today we understand by logistics the aspect of military science dealing with the procurement, maintenance, and transportation of military matériel, facilities, and personnel (Merriam-Webster). The secondary meaning it to handle the details of an operation.

For workshops you mean to organize and plan your

  • personnel (participants, guest, assistants etc.)
  • equipment (camera, microphone, lights etc.) and material like documents, food, marketing (Banner, x-trail, etc.)
  • place (workshop room, restaurant and accomodation)

The better organized you are, the more you can delegate and the more efficient you can run them. Thus, the workshop plan has a seperate section for logistics. On one hand, this is not to forget. On other it is a kind of check- as well as task list. Consequently, you can hand it out to your staff and delegate the preparation of these items.

In the following you’ll find several aspects of logistics. They are the precondition for a successful operation. Thus, they shouldn’t be neglected.
