A well-made salad must have a certain uniformity; it should make perfect sense for those ingredients to share a bowl.

Most likely numbers salad is known to you since childhood days. Now, it’s time to take the salad bowl out of the cupboard and place it on the screen as a remote game.

Objective for Numbers Salad

  • Game for distraction by focusing on contest
  • Team-Building if split in groups

Resources

  • Sketch on Flipchart or
  • Sketch on Whiteboard / Presentation Slide

Time

10–15 min.

You can put a time limit on the challenge. Consequently, participants will be more focuse and energetic. The positive effect of numbers salad as energizer will be higher.

Task

On a flipchart or a slide you have painted a bowl, which contains letters. Participants have to combine the letters they find – but each letter only once (so better put two or three „e“ and „a“ in – and type them in the chat box. To have a sufficient number of letters you might think of a couple of words and disassemble them into its components. Then, you can fill your bowl.

If you want you can look out for participant with the most words and reward her or hand out a virtual badge.

As an alternative you can split your participants into two to three groups and let them compete. Thus, the game creates more team spirit.

Phase

Anytime.
